This protest, which led to multiple shows of the film being cancelled in Madurai, Kovai andChennai, does not seem to have affected the box office collection of the film on Day 3.

After the protest of ADMK cadres, team Sarkar has agreed to remove the controversial scene in the film.

Tamil Nadu Law minister CV Shanmugam was quoted by Times Now, "Through this movie, an attempt is made to instigate violence in society". It is directed by A R Murugadoss and has music by Oscar victor A R Rahman.

Chennai: With the ruling AIAMDK opposed to the Vijay-starring "Sarkar" over certain scenes and a character's name, the producer and director of the Tamil movie have obtained CBFC's permission to voluntarily delete some visuals and mute some dialogues, said an official.

The counsel also informed the judge that the objectionable portions had already been removed from the film. They were referring to the scene in the film where freebies like a mixer and grinder were thrown into the fire.

'Sarkar, ' produced by Sun Pictures, stars Vijay and Keerthi Suresh in key roles, and was released on November 6. Meanwhile, the film's director AR Murugadoss has also filed a petition and got anticipatory bail in Madras High Court.

The AIADMK is critical of the scene as former CM J Jayalalithaa back in 2011 gave away mixies, table fans and grinders, and interestingly they had the pictures of the CM on them.
