It's hard to be a Windows 10 user at the moment, with so many problems coming one after the other.

Some Windows 10 users are reporting license issues resulting in warnings that their system is not activated.

Unfortunately, after the troubleshooting completes, a majority of users are getting the message below which says you're running Windows 10 Home and need to downgrade. They were being prompted that the existing license is for Windows 10 Home and that a Pro license can be ordered from the Store.

Microsoft support owes these users an apology as the activations were legitimate, it was Microsoft's servers that were wrong. Meanwhile, we'd recommend following the steps in this link: to help you troubleshoot Windows 10 activation errors. For customers that have deployed Pro in their work environments, this is creating headaches with unnecessary support tickets from users who suddenly think they may now be using a pirated version of the software.

To reactivate their installations and to get rid of the un-activated copy of Windows watermark, users may need to re-run Windows Activation once the licensing server problem has been sorted out.

Microsoft has just released an Emerging issue announcement about current activation issue related to Pro edition recently.

Our engineers are working tirelessly to resolve this issue and it is expected to be corrected within one to two business days.

In some good news though, the Windows 10 activation problem seems to have been fixed.

To the relief of the bruised Insider team (but no one else), it soon became apparent that the issue is not just isolated to those fearless souls trying out preview code, but over many versions of Windows 10.
