Xiaomi's entry into the United Kingdom follows its arrival in France and Italy this May, and the official entry last November into Spain, its first Western European market, where it had already become the third largest smartphone vendor.

Over the last few years, Xiaomi has built up quite a reputation for delivering high quality smartphones and other accessories, but at relatively affordable prices.

Xiaomi has a lot of fantastic phones, and they all offer great value.

The Mi 8 Pro sports a 6.21-inch AMOLED display, transparent glass back cover, an AI-powerful dual camera set-up and infra-red facial recognition technology, and bears a close resemblance to Apple's iPhone X thanks to the "notch" at the top of its display.

Xiaomi will also sell its devices via its own online store, Amazon UK, John Lewis, and Argos.

That is now changing as today, Xiaomi held an event in London to celebrate the company's official launch in the UK.

Xiaomi will also open an authorised store in central London on November 19, 2018.

The front of the phone is less striking, with a very familiar look - meaning a relatively wide notch and a small chin at the bottom of the phone, like nearly every other Android phone to launch this year.

Xiaomi's Redmi 6A is a lower-end offering; there no full-screen design on offer, with the handset instead packing a 5.45in HD LCD display with a sizable bezel both above and below.

HDR results are especially impressive with the Mi 8 Pro, while Xiaomi has also added some bonus features including a Pro mode.

The Mi 8 Pro originally debuted in China this May, and it's easily the most exciting of the bunch. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz, along with Adreno 630 GPU.
