She added that the win against the Kiwis means a lot for the team.

She posted a match-winning 134-run stand with Jemimah Rodrigues for the fourth wicket as India posted 194 runs in their 20 overs.

Harmanpreet got into the mode with two sixes off Jess Watkin in the 10th over, as India reached 76 for the loss of three wickets.

Last year, too, Kaur had showcased her power-hitting with a brilliant 115-ball 171 in the World Cup semifinal game against Australia. "And I think when I came to the ground, I was feeling a little low and getting some cramps", Harmanpreet said, when asked why she had needed attention from the physio during her innings. "And that is the only reason we went Taniya [Bhatia], who can play freely [as opener]".

The right-hander also revealed that she was uncomfortable taking singles and twos and hence, made a decision to go for the big shots instead of investing too much energy on running between the wickets.

On a day when she became the first Indian woman to score a T20I century, Kaur said the milestone wasn't on her mind.

A brilliant leaping catch in the deep from Hayley Jensen saw the end of Smriti Mandhana (2) and, although Kaur hit just five runs off her first 13 balls, she soon found her groove, bringing up her half-century off 33.

Chasing a stiff target, New Zealand were off to flyer with the seasoned Suzie Bates (67 off 50 balls) and Anna Peterson (14) racing to 52 in just under seven over.

Dottin was trialled in the opening slot for the two official ICC warm-up matches against India and New Zealand, scoring nine and 35, and Captain Stafanie Taylor said the 27-year-old could be used in the position in the upcoming games. Three successive sixes took her from 79 to 97, also taking her tally of sixes to eight.

The contest was as good as over for New Zealand after Bates' dismissal and India kept up the pressure on their opponents.

The Providence Stadium track proved to be helpful for the slow bowlers as India used Deepti Sharma, Dayalan Hemlatha, Poonam Yadav and Radha Yadav to good effect.
