Rams CB Marcus Peters: "Tell Sean Payton to keep talking that (expletive)"

Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters is fired up by some trash talk from Sean Payton and can't wait to face the New Orleans Saints again. "We thought we really liked that matchup - a lot". It wasn't just a defeat, though; Drew Brees, Michael Thomas and the New Orleans offense absolutely torched the Los Angeles defense for 45 points, with 35 of them coming in the first half.

"They were going to travel Marcus to him, and that was fine by us", Payton said afterward.

"Tell Sean Payton to keep talking that (expletive). You feel me? And then we going to have a good little, nice little bowl of gumbo together", Peters added, according to Gary Klein of the LA Times. Thomas caught six of the eight targets for 127 yards and a touchdown.

Thomas performed so well that his head coach, Sean Payton, may have even taken a subtle shot at the job, or lack thereof, that Peters did defending him - something that Peters didn't appreciate too much.

Thomas caught 12 of 15 passes that he was targeted on. As a cornerback, with a job description that says he's supposed to prevent things like that from happening, it was undoubtedly a long afternoon for Peters. So tell him to keep talking that s--.

There was a better chance Peters played quarterback next week than for him to remain quiet.

Peters didn't elaborate on what Payton said on the sideline, but that delicious dinner date is a distinct possibility for January.

If the two teams were to meet again this season, it would be in the playoffs.

"Got up there in press, came back, he just beat me off the line", Peters said.
