The White House on Saturday announced upcoming recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor awarded in the USA, and among the recipients is Miriam Adelson, wife of business magnate and Trump backer Sheldon Adelson.

His wife's citation added: "As a committed member of the American Jewish community, she has supported Jewish schools, Holocaust memorial organizations, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, and Birthright Israel, among other causes".

The White House, in announcing Presley, noted that he "defined American culture to billions of adoring fans around the world".

Two former National Football League players are also recognised: former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach and Alan Page, who began a legal career after leaving the NFL.

President Donald Trump on Saturday named seven individuals to receive Presidential Medals of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the U.S.

The White House also lauded the accomplishments of Hatch, one of the longest-serving senators in USA history, citing his four decades of legislative accomplishments and his leadership on judicial confirmations.

Alan C. Page is a former football player and lawyer. He practiced law in the off-season and eventually became a member of the Minnesota Supreme Court.

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach was tapped for volunteering to fight in the Vietnam War and the work he has done as a businessman. He was also a philanthropist, focusing on helping children and veterans. The couple founded the Page Education Foundation 30 years ago. Elvis also served almost 2 years in the United States Army, humbly accepting the call to serve despite his fame. He ultimately won 3 GRAMMY Awards for his gospel music. "He set records that stood for decades, including 714 home runs, 2,873 hits, 2,174 runs, and 2,062 walks-and he remains unmatched with a.690 slugging percentage", the White House wrote.

"Adelson is a committed doctor, philanthropist, and humanitarian", the White house announcement said.

Ruth, meanwhile, is celebrated for setting baseball records that lasted for decades, creating the Babe Ruth Foundation, which sought to help underprivileged children, and for raising money for the war effort during World War II.
