(Web Desk) - HBO announced Tuesday that the eighth and final season of its fantasy juggernaut "Game of Thrones" will premiere in April 2019.

To promote the final episodes, HBO will launch #FortheThrone, "a multi-phased, global marketing campaign that will unfold over the months leading into the final season". This series has thrown audiences for a loop for seven seasons, and the end of the most recent season teased the massive stakes and a new romantic entanglement that will affect how everything turns out in the end. Every betrayal. Every risk.

To prepare for the final season, in which Sophie Turner has said will divide fans, we've compiled a list of the 25 best Game of Thrones episodes and 25 obscure facts you may not know about the HBO show. Every fight. Every sacrifice.

The television show's cast member Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, briefly revealed season 8's premiere month during an interview back in January.

However, even though this will be the final season for Game of Thrones, HBO isn't going to let such an epic brand get away that easily. The exact air date is still unknown.
