It's not just the single 12MP rear camera on the rear of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL that will benefit from Night Sight though, with the dual front cameras of both handsets also getting the mode added to their arsenal.

The time for Night Sight for Google Pixel devices is here, and the release time is imminent. Another redditor who goes by the name of katiemcccc says that all messages from the Pixel 3 were erased (2 years of messages) and they didn't reappear despite restarting the phone, or installing/uninstalling updates and chatting with Google help.

Once Night Sight is enabled, the Google Pixel will automatically suggest that Night Sight be used when its about to take a photo in low light. We'll let Google explain: "Night Sight constantly adapts to you and the environment, whether you're holding Pixel or propping it on a steady surface". However, smartphones have always struggled in scenarios with little or no light and the Night Sight mode aims to address that issue.

What does Google's Night Sight do?

With this, Night Sight "balances the color of your photo" so that the results seem far more natural, even in low-light. It uses this information to process how to capture the photo, adjusting exposure and burst photography on the fly. Google is yet to respond to this text disappearing bug reports alongside a bug affecting Pixel devices where photos captured with the camera aren't being saved.

It appears that issues continue to affect Pixel 3 devices after the latest security updates pushed out by Google. That means you can download the update for yourself a bit early over at APK Mirror. To combat motion blur that OIS can't fix, the Pixel 3's default picture-taking mode uses "motion metering", which consists of using optical flow to measure recent scene motion and choosing an exposure time that minimizes this blur. "Night Sight works best on Pixel 3".
