The attacker entered the McDonald's restaurant from an employee back door on October 27 at about 11 p.m. and asked for ketchup, according to a statement from Santa Ana police. Things quickly escalated, with the woman launching a full-scale attack on the manager after she was informed that she was in a restricted area. Another employee then tries to intervene. When she was told she couldn't be inside the restaurant, she "became combative", according to police.

It added that she "pushed, punched, and choked the victim".

In the video, the man can be seen coming through the back door before pulling the woman off the employee before escorting her away.

Santa Ana police are looking for a Hispanic woman who they said assaulted a McDonald's employee after she was not given enough ketchup and told to leave the restaurant.

Police are searching for the man as well, hoping to speak with him about the incident. "There's no reason to physically assault someone because you didn't get enough ketchup", he said.

"We're actually grateful for the service he provided, he stopped the assault".

"Obviously, we take these things seriously", he said. "She's the one that committed the crime".

McDonald's Owner/Operator Larry Kaplan, when asked for comment, said: "Our biggest priority is always the safety and well-being of our employees and customers at our restaurants". They believe is she between the ages of 20 and 25.
