Grande has landed 10 previous singles in the top 10, and in 2014 she took "Problem" all the way to #2, but it took her unconventional post-breakup dispatch "thank u, next" to get her to the summit.

Grande dropped her newest song "thank u, next" just 30 minutes before the new episode of "Saturday Night Live" aired, the same show her ex Pete Davidson happens to be a cast member on.

Ariana shared her excitement with fans, saying that "honest to god I'm not okay rn". He also apologized for using "you" instead of "u" as in the song's title.

"What an interesting, challenging, painful and yet lovely and exciting chapter of life", the "Breathin" singer wrote, starting off perhaps the most articulate installment in Sunday morning's gratitude-laden tweet train. However, Grande didn't seem to mind all that much.

The instantly catchy chorus propels the song, with the titular lyrics "thank u, next" repeated over again until Grande sings the powerful words, "I'm so f*ckin' grateful for my ex". In September, her recent ex and friend, Mac Miller, passed away unexpectedly at just 26. The "thank u, next" parent album is expected to be released in the near future.

Hamill then admitted that the quote wasn't intentional.

The pop star went on to thank her friends, who recently threw her a surprise party.

Who else thinks there's an early-stage proverb somewhere in there?
