World Cup victor Maradona has said he intends to spend a week in Manchester in the near future to see the former Real Madrid manager in action.

'I would give Pep the merit of taking advantage of the launch that Johan Cruyff gave him, ' he continued.

"It was great to come back, to feel the air of Manchester".

Jose Mourinho and his Manchester United side are struggling in the Premier League, and while it may look like things are improving, the 3-1 loss to Manchester City proved otherwise.

"Guardiola did not invent the tiki-taka - a style of play characterised by maintaining possession with short passing and movement. It was "flaco" Cruyff", Maradona said, referring to the possession-based game often seen as the hallmark of Guardiola's teams.

"I, as a coach, still have a lot to learn", Maradona, who is coaching Mexican second division side Dorados de Sinaloa told Marca.

'At the moment Pep is able to choose any player in the world that he wants.

As two of the most prominent managers of their generation, Mourinho, 55, and Guardiola, 47, have clashed fiercely and frequently in the past.

Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of internationals with Belgium - for whom he scored an excellent goal at the World Cup against England - Januzaj bemoaned how Mourinho never gave him a proper chance at Man United.

Pep Guardiola has Manchester City flying in the Premier League once more, but Maradona believes he has received a significant helping hand in his managerial career.

"Yes they could win it", he said. They now sit in mid-table in the Ascenso MX after 14 games of the season played.
