Ed Oliver has altercation with coach over a coat

Cougars standout Ed Oliver was on the sidelines for Thursday night's contest between Houston and Tulane, as he's missed four games in a row due to a knee injury.

A college football star unloaded on his head coach as the team headed into the locker room at halftime in one of the more freaky incidents we've seen this year.

Oliver, sporting team-issued sweats on the sideline, put on one of the oversized, heavier coats provided for the players during the first half of the game, as the temperature dipped into the low 50s. Oliver is not playing, ESPN reporting the confrontation stemmed from him wearing an "active players only" jacket.

Oliver was restrained by Houston director of sports performance Rod Grace while shouting at Applewhite on the way to the tunnel. He announced before the season that he would enter the 2019 NFL Draft, where he's expected to be a top pick.

Oliver was inactive for Thursday's game and has not played since October 20 as he recovers from a knee injury. Instead, he said he wrote it so that in the event he can't return, people would know how much he gave to the team.
