More suspensions extended after Conor-Khabib post-fight brawl at UFC 229

Cerrone is coming off a win over Mike Perry at UFC Fight Night 139 over the weekend.

The interview with White went smoothly until one of the hosts of the program, Waleed Aly, chose to turn the focus on the altercations between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov with Aly insinuating the UFC staged the April bus attack in Brooklyn, in which McGregor threw a loading dolly at a charter bus full of fighters, including Nurmagomedov.

Waleed Aly and Dana White have clashed on live TV after The Project host grilled the UFC boss with claims that he exploits the mayhem caused by his fighters.

White was promoting UFC234 in Melbourne on February 10th, was asked by presenter Waleed Aly about the punishment (or lack thereof) for Conor and Khabib following their infractions before and after UFC 229.

"There's the bus incident where McGregor attacks a bus full of fighters, you get really upset about that", Aly said. "Nurmagomedov jumped over the cage towards the respondent, and the two men engaged in a fight and throw punches towards one another". At that time you were livid about this.

Never one to back down, White bit back.

As a reault of that post-fight fracas, Khabib was banned indefinitely by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) and had his $2 million fight purse witheld, pending a further meeting to decide his fate in December. "We don't need that type of stuff to sell a fight".

Aly responded by arguing it seemed convenient that the UFC had cameras on hand to capture the moment McGregor attacked the bus in New Zealand.

That's where White really fired up.

"We do a show called UFC Embedded where we follow the fighters around".

"First of all, the kid [McGregor] gets arrested, goes to jail, is being sued by everybody, and then is not allowed to fight in the state of NY anymore".

The Nevada Chief Attorney General, Caroline Bateman, however, had something different to say on the same.

White went on to say 'what am I going to do? They will lay down fines and suspensions and whatever they're going to do. "He was suspended, he couldn't fight because he was in jail!"

The rest of the back and forth descended - if that's even possible - into an annoying argument between two people who just didn't see eye to eye.

The book's title, "Khabib Time", is a reference to a tagline used by "The Eagles's" army of fans, including his local football team Anzhi Makhachkala, and which became a popular social media hashtag.

Dana's voice was raised as he said: 'They already took care of it.

"Video evidence reveals that immediately after the conclusion of the main event, (Danis), who worked the corner for Conor McGregor repeatedly motioned to Khabib Nurmagomedov with his arm to come over towards him", Bateman told MMAJunkie.

"It's just insane to me that anybody could believe that that's staged, you know what I mean", White told foxsports.com.au. "I'm levelling, that's what I do". 'That's what I do - I put on fights'. This guy was arrested, he was down there because we were supposed to be talking about a fight he was going to be in, he came and attacked a bus and got arrested and went to jail.

In essence it any suspension will not mean anything, and it is clear that White simply wants to keep both fighters happy in order to maximise the amount of money that can be made with them. "That's what Nevada does, they govern us. If you think that we would put our top guy in a position where he attacks a bus, hurts other fighters then gets sued by all of them and then gets arrested ... we're not that good". What else am I gonna do?

"Let me tell you what, reality is better than any script you could ever write". Suspend them for another year?
