The Radeon RX590 is not based on a new architecture, but instead a refresh of the current mainstream Polaris architecture. It still comes with 8GB of GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit memory interface. It is AMD's first GPU to be manufactured on a new 12nm, process which allows for improved performance and yields. Given that we now know (from our testing) that the newer RX 590 adds just a few percentage points of average performance over the RX 580 while using significantly more power, the RX 580 is looking more and more like a good buy this holiday season for those looking to game at 1080p. "Combined with AMD Radeon FreeSync™ technology for smooth, stutter-free gaming, game Day-0 launch performance updates and an ever-expanding Radeon™ Software feature set, the Radeon™ RX 590 graphics card provides an fantastic experience for the legions of performance and hard-core gamers everywhere", said Scott Herkelman, corporate vice president and general manager from Radeon Technologies Group at AMD. This makes it an incredible deal if you need a new mid-range graphics card.

For lower end models, and specifically the Radeon RX 580 and 570, buyers can select two of those three games.

AMD is running a "Raise the Game Fully Loaded" promotion that gifts buyers of certain Radeon graphics cards up to three games collectively worth $180.

The inclusion of the Radeon RX 570 in this promotion creates an interesting opportunity for gamers.
