The top of the College Football Playoff rankings does not look any different than it did a week ago. The top four teams in the final ranking on December 2 will be invited to the four-team College Football Playoff.

No. 5 Georgia and No. 6 Oklahoma are the first two teams on the outside looking in.

The chaos happened outside the top 10 among teams who didn't have a shot of sniffing the playoff anyway.

Alabama is No. 1 followed by Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan and Georgia.

Ahead of Ohio State are one-loss teams West Virginia (9), Washington State (8), Oklahoma (6), Georgia (5), and MI (4), but also ahead of the Buckeyes is a two-loss LSU (7) team that struggled to get by two-win Arkansas. Notre Dame 4. MI 5. It's not as if Alabama would have a loaded resume, with victories against LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn at the top. UCF 12. Syracuse 13. The Iowa State Cyclones fell at No. 16 in the Playoff poll coming off its Week 11 win at home over the Baylor Bears.

The most recent edition of the 2018 College Football Playoff Rankings dropped Texas football a few spots compared to where it ended up in the AP Poll in Week 12. Utah 20. Boston College 21. With both teams still in contention for a spot in the Big 12 Championship game, expect to see each team pull out all the tricks. The attention will focus on No. 11 UCF, but the game presents an opportunity for No. 24 Cincinnati, too: a potential division title, conference title and New Year's Six bowl bid.
