In Once Upon a Deadpool, Deadpool has kidnapped Fred Savage - but it's all in good fun.

Early this month, Deadline broke the news about the making of the PG-13 version, but in a nutshell it's framed by a homage to Savage's other great child-star success in the Reagan era, The Princess Bride.

In the U.S., the film was rated R violence, strong language, sexual content and obscenity, but while the MPAA has already given the new film a PG-13 rating for the States, over in the United Kingdom the British Board of Film Criticism (BBFC) has decided not to lower the rating.

The trailer shows the subversive franchise still views the fourth wall as a revolving door and that the ever-droll Reynolds is still wickedly suited to play the jabber-jaw, mutant mercenary Deadpool. The majority of new material involves Reynolds as Deadpool chatting with Savage - and by all accounts, this new footage was shot in one day.

Wade Wilson is bringing his own brand of holiday tidings to cinemas next month with Once Upon A Deadpool, a PG-13 recut of Deadpool 2.

Savage will reprise his role from the 1987 classic, The Princess Bride, in the new framing sequence alongside Reynold's Deadpool. "I've said no since 2006".

"Because it's the season of giving, we will also be giving $1 for every ticket sold to F-ck Cancer, which will be renamed Fudge Cancer just for this limited-time ad campaign", Ryan Reynolds recently said. "The second condition took some explaining..."
