A New Far Cry Game has Been Announced

It's basically the gaming world's equivalent of the Golden Globes, if the Golden Globes were occasionally sponsored by Dorito's, or undrinkable new flavors of Mountain Dew. Ubisoft has revealed that a new Far Cry game will be announced tomorrow at The Game Awards 2018. We'll know plenty more when this next apparent spinoff is shown again at The Game Awards.

That would make it the first Far Cry game in a long while to continue the story of the previous one, but whether it'd be called Far Cry 5-2, or something similar, remains to be seen. However, given that the event doesn't start until tomorrow, the company has made a decision to publish a brief teaser trailer to get its fans hyped about what is clearly a new Far Cry title.

The company has made it pretty clear that this isn't just DLC, but a full standalone game, however, it'll likely take the form of a spinoff sequel kinda like Far Cry Primal, which is set in a prehistoric period. However you felt about it, looks like the next Far Cry offering will pick up right where those explosions left off, in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The announcement seems quite sudden, coming not even a year after Far Cry 5 hit stores. We'll report more on this new project when it is formally revealed at The Game Awards tomorrow night.

Plus, it's not hard to imagine an ending to Far Cry 5 where the Elder's Gate cult get their hands on a nuclear bomb, and do the unthinkable. Were you feeling it, or not so much?
