Fallout 76 server Maintenance schedule confirmed as Bethesda take servers down

The issue was quickly patched, but Bethesda's reputation took further damage, and the fallout (sorry) might not be over, especially in Europe with its tight GPDR privacy rules.

Once orders for the set began shipping to players, their outcry prompted Bethesda to respond with a token of apology: a $5 voucher for Fallout 76's in-game cosmetics store. Fans took umbrage with the token by pointing out a hilarious irony: that amount of credit couldn't even buy a virtual canvas bag within the game in question. After submitting support tickets to get a replacement canvas bag, as instructed by Bethesda, users discovered that they weren't just seeing their support ticket, but other people's as well. "I am receiving every single one of your support tickets on my Bethesda account", said Jessiepie.

The game was announced at E3 2018 and, based on this piece of information, it doesn't look it has done that much progress. We'll also update this thread as soon as downtime is complete.

"We're planning to bring Fallout 76 offline for maintenance across all platforms around 6:30 p.m. EST (23:30 UTC) to apply a hotfix that will address a service issue".

Bethesda has confirmed that they will not be providing patch notes following today's downtime. Reports have been cropping up saying things like receipt screenshots, names, addresses, and even credit card details are on full display for some hopefully benevolent players.

Bethesda has since corrected the problem and made sure consumers couldn't access the information, but a number of Reddit users have noted that they've come across these details.

The hits keep on coming for Bethesda and its customers. To make matters worse, data breach notification laws require companies that have experienced a data breach to notify anyone who might have been affected; something Bethesda hasn't done.
