On Tuesday night, numerous highest-ranking members of the royal family flocked to Buckingham Palace for the Queen's Diplomatic Corps Reception.

The Duchess of Sussex now does not have any upcoming public engagements in her diary, after a hectic couple of months with the royal tour, the Remembrance Day services and Prince Charles' 70th birthday celebrations.

"Absolutely!" the royal responded in a video shared by Harry_Meghan_Updates on Instagram. The mother-of-three chose a glittering off the shoulder Jenny Packham gown for the VIP event, a reception honouring the Diplomatic Corps at Buckingham Palace; but most of the attention was on her choice of tiara.

Describing the annual event, ABC's Royal Contributor Victoria Murphy explained, "It's a white tie event so its possibly the glitziest event in the royal calendar".

After enjoying what was surely a delightful evening, Kate and her husband, Prince William, were back to business on Wednesday morning, jetting to Cyprus to meet with Royal Air Force service members stationed there, ahead of the holidays.

In the audience listening to the sell-out speech was the Duchess of Sussex who had slipped in quietly with just a few security staff to listen to Michelle's words without drawing attention to herself.

"It was really important for them to do that because they wanted to recognize the sacrifice that a lot of families make when a loved one is overseas during the festive period", Murphy said. "As someone whose husband has served, I know how hard it feels when a loved one leaves home to do the job they've been trained for..." "They joined in with children's games".

The duchess "privately attended" a discussion between Obama and writer Chimamanda Ngozi at London's Southbank Centre on Monday night, Kensington Palace confirmed.

Over her seven years as Britain's Duchess of Cambridge, a sighting of Kate draped-in-diamond headwear was as rare as hearing her actually speak, but 2018 has been a year of change for the royal family and part of it means a more vocal - and dutifully dressed queen-in-waiting.
