HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, today announced the Nokia 5.1 Plus. The Nokia 8.1 is the direct successor to the Nokia 7 Plus which saw a lot of attraction in the sub-continent. Surprisingly, the event was devoted exclusively to Nokia 8.1 as no mention of the duo of Nokia 3.1 Plus and 5.1 Plus was made during the event. Luckily Chetan Cale, a gifted photographer and member of Nokia Community, was there to take some shots with it. The phone goes on sale on December 7 in India and is priced at INR 19,999. The guaranteed security updates for 3 years and OS updates for 2 make the Nokia line of devices truly unique among the Android OEM line up. While there is a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the device also comes with face unlock support. Introduced first with the Nokia 7.1, the Pure Display tech from HMD allows users to stream HDR titles from Netflix and other content platforms. That price will get you a Nokia 8.1 in one of several different colors.
