Priyanka Chopra was called a "global scam artist" by an article in The Cut, an offshoot of the New York Magazine.

The article, which also declared that Nick had "married into a fraudulent relationship against his will", has since been removed completely, however, the Bollywood star's new family went into bat for her on social media. There was strong uproar as the writer accused Priyanka of being a "global scam artist" and that Nick married her against his will.

Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas at the Jodhpur airport. "We've removed it and apologize".

Now, when Priyanka was asked about the story, the actress said that she doesn't even want to react or comment. It's not even in her stratosphere. "These kinds of random things can't disturb it".

Also, Priyanka's brother-in-law Joe Jonas and his fiance Sophie Turner took to their Twitter to lash out the news.

As soon as the article appeared on internet, several artists responded in angst, calling it "inappropriate", "disgusting" and "sexist". "Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bullshit". It reeks of envy and bitterness. After waiting patiently for a few days, Priyanka and Nick posted dreamy pictures and videos from their Christian and Hindu wedding and trust us, words fall short if we try to describe how wonderful they looked. There is no good explanation for this other than human error and poor judgement.

The site took down the story and replaced it with a statement reading: "Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards".
