The game, according to Beenox co-studio head Thomas Wilson, will include new animations and personality as the team revamps the original game in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

Perhaps one of our favourite announcements of last night's Game Awards was for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, a long-rumoured and much requested remake that we're happy to see is on the way.

It'll be great to hit the open road again with Crash and company, and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueledwill give Xbox One and PlayStation 4 a cart racing game that they can be thrilled with.

With online multiplayer and four-player split screen, Crash Team Racing looks to be an fantastic recreation of one of the best Mario Kart competitors ever made. And, whoa, we can't wait to take this for a spin. Better still, it will be released on 21 June, which isn't really too far away. The game will be a faithful recreation of the original, with all characters, tracks and arenas returning.
