Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch in 2019.

Gaming giant Nintendo and entertainment behemoth Marvel on Thursday announced a partnership to unveil an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch portable gaming console. It won't be developed by the same team, but will instead come under the supervision of Team Ninja, developers of Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden, and Nioh. Both Captain Marvel and the Avengers 4 films will premiere that year and this game neatly ties into those. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 features an original story focused on the threat posed by Thanos and his Black Order.

Play online*, offline via local wireless, or simply pass a Joy-Con controller to a friend, so they can join your team. In addition to the series' traditional perspective, the new entry will let players select a dynamic, zoomed-in heroic view, allowing for a more immersive play style for single-player or multiplayer when using multiple systems.

To recall, the game's prequel Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 was initially released back in September 2009.

The Black Order trailer reveals a host of playable Marvel characters, including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men and more.
