Single-player! RPG mechanics! Guns! "It affects everything in the game - the setting, the characters, the dialogs".

Although Obsidian is now a Microsoft Studio, The Outer Worlds pre-dates the deal and is still being published by Take-Two's Private Division and will be out for Xbox One, PC, and PS4. This game is called The Outer Worlds and the team has released its debut gameplay trailer.

The game is not an open-world RPG, but rather a series of interconnected, smaller worlds and locations.

This is the first look at The Outer Worlds. Unlike Cyberpunk 2077, it doesn't seem like there are any exceptions to that rule in the form of third-person cutscenes or a third-person vehicle camera. It's now slated to come to PC, PS4, and Xbox One. In it, you are a part of a colonist ship heading to the far reaches of outer space. Will you be getting this when it launches next year? In theory, this should incentivize deeper role-playing. Obsidian was the driving force behind Fallout: New Vegas, and the company also has some game designers on hand that were involved in creating the original Fallout game, which Obsidian is quick to point out.

Geoff Keighley and Obsidian teased the game's announcement last week with the tagline, "Worlds Will Change".

For now, you can keep track of the game's progress by checking out its dedicated Steam store page.
