Love has not played since October 24 because of a toe injury but the 30-year-old's name has still surfaced in trade rumours.

Below are 25 thoughts on Love and the Cavs, in honor of the 25-point loss they took last week against the Heat - the closest they've been at the end of their last three games. This season was initially thought to be one in which Kevin Love and the Cavs were going to compete for a postseason birth, but those hopes quickly evaporated.

Love, however, said he still plans to play again in 2018-19. "I feel like I would be letting my teammates down, and letting (head coach Larry Drew) and the coaching staff down if I didn't get out there and play and get out there and play as soon as I could - so long as I'm healthy". I want to be out there with those guys.

The Cavaliers need him badly.

Cleveland has lost nine in a row and are 8-32 record heading into their matchup against in on Tuesday.

The five-time All-Star and 2016 National Basketball Association champion signed a four-year, $120million extension with the Cavaliers shortly after LeBron James left the team and joined the Los Angeles Lakers in the off-season. "It's just tough when you have several players out, veterans out and some of your top players that give you so much on both sides of the ball. I just don't know when it's going to be".

In mid-December, rumors swirled that five teams reached out the Cavaliers attempting to trade for Love.

As he leaned on a wall inside the training facility, Love smiled when reminded that the trade deadline is approaching.

We can't almost stress enough how much Love being on the floor playing considerable minutes would help players such as Collin Sexton, Cedi Osman, Jordan Clarkson, and Larry Nance Jr. on the Cavs. "I just don't know when it's going to be". Love has been sidelined for most of the year due to a reported toe injury, but his commitment to see the situation through in Cleveland is at least admirable. I've said all along I've wanted to be here.

Kevin Love says he's not ready to return to action and wants to remain with the Cavaliers. I had seen, playing six years in Minnesota and now this being my fifth year here, I've seen a lot of stuff. So I think every trade deadline, every draft, every free agency, always brings something new.
