It also has a radically different design, especially for Xiaomi smartphones-a 2.5D glass back panel with dual tone gradient.

On Bluetooth SIG's website, the Redmi Note 7 has been certified under two model numbers - M1901F7G and M1901F7H. The front is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The brand also revealed that a Redmi Note 7 Pro is in the works, packing the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor instead of Samsung's 48MP camera. It's got a 48-megapixel rear camera, coupled with a 5-megapixel depth sensor, as well as a 13-megapixel selfie camera.

In addition to the big screen, Xiaomi equipped the Redmi Note 7 with a massive 4,000mAh non-replaceable battery, and thanks to a USB-C port it can charge up quite quickly with an optional 9V/2A charger (standard 5V/2A included), topping it up to 100 percent in around 1 hour 40 minutes.

Xiaomi did not trim the battery capacity on the Redmi Note 7 and it's still a 4000mAh unit. It seems like Xiaomi is holding this one back until the Chinese New Year, but we can likely expect a horsepower upgrade as well. It was the first Xiaomi phone to come with the wide notched display. The waterdrop notch is circular unlike it is in phones from Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus, and others.

Overall, the Redmi Note 7 is a huge step up from the current Redmi Note 6 Pro. We are actually pretty pumped about the price, the camera and the fact that the device is powered by a capable, S660 processor.

The fingerprint sensor at the back is easily reachable, while the dual cameras are stacked vertically. The secondary camera is 5-megapixel.

-Gradient finish. One of the best things about the Redmi Note 7 is how lovely it looks from the back. More storage means more money - CNY1,199 for the 4/64 GB phone and CNY1,399 for the 6/64 GB variant.

-Yet again a phone so cheap running on Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset is a great deal.

-Another reason to rejoice is that Xiaomi finally brings a Redmi phone witg USB Type C support.

The Redmi Note 7 starts at 999 Yuan (about Rs 10,000) for the 3GB/32GB variant. Sadly, Xiaomi did not launch the Note 7 with 128GB of internal storage. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the Redmi Y2 can now be bought for Rs 10,999.
