They have great riches in all positions but they are likely to be without Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul after recent comments made on a television show that the BCCI have taken a dim view of so the likelihood is that they will not be considered for selection here which is no major issue given their strength and depth.

"Both Pandya and Rahul have been suspended pending an inquiry", the Committee of Administrators (CoA) chairman Vinod Rai is quoted as saying by PTI.

Pandya also boasted about not knowing women's names at parties and telling his parents the day he lost his virginity.

Virat Kohli expressed his displeasure at the comments made by Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul.

Pandya and Rahul, who are both in Sydney with India's one-day squad, have found themselves in hot water over comments made during an episode of Koffee with Karan, hosted by the Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, that aired on Sunday in India.

"We as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers do not support such views", Kohli said ahead of the first ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

The development has left Rahul and Pandya facing suspension. "Combinations will have to be thought of once the decision comes out".

"Considering that the inquiry process against the concerned players has commenced and is pending, it is open for the COA to suspend the concerned players (along with their privileges and benefits) pending enquiry and proceeding into the charges of misconduct until final adjudication", the legal team said in its email to the CoA, the office bearers and the BCCI's professional management. Definitely it has to hit hard, they will definitely understand that things have not gone right'.

"We definitely don't align with those views and those are purely individual views".

On being asked about the possible combination if the duo is banned, Kohli said: "From the combination and team balance point of view, yes, you'll have to think about the combination you'll need then".

Hardik has since issued a statement on Twitter, where he said, "After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments".
