Marca are reporting that Coutinho's confidence has taken a massive hit after his recent performances and that he's now at "rock bottom".

He has lost his place in the side to Arturo Vidal and Ousmane Dembele now appear to be ahead of him in the pecking order.

That has led to sensational reports linking Coutinho with a move away from Barcelona - with Manchester United seemingly interested.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United are monitoring Coutinho's situation and have already approached the midfielder's representative to register their interest and ask about the possibility of a transfer.

While Liverpool have splashed the cash recently to sign the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Naby Keita and Fabinho, I struggle to see the Reds spend over £100million to re-sign Coutinho.

That's because Coutinho's £142 million deal contained a number of clauses.

'Now Coutinho isn't playing and it's the other way around. The club paid that last season and will be due to pay the same amount this season - but only if Coutinho is still at the club.

Barcelona, on the other hand, claim that they were ideal within their rights to forgo the 26.7 million euro payment as he had already begun negotiations with PSG at the time.

It is online a year since Coutinho sealed his mega money switch to Barcelona, to become the club's most expensive ever signing and the most costly in La Liga history.

All in all, as per The Mirror, Liverpool would be missing out on a tidy £22 million in bonus payments if he was to leave Barcelona this month.

His presence in the starting XI has been a big miss even though Liverpool find themselves at the top of the Premier League and I would welcome him back to Anfield with welcome arms.
