Now that the Cleveland Browns have a head coach in Freddie Kitchens, he can begin to build himself a staff to work with.

Kitchens hired 2 of his coordinators - special teams and defense - Friday.

According to NFLPenalties.com, Cleveland was sixth in the National Football League in special teams flags in 2018 whereas Minnesota was No. 20.

Since 2011, Priefer has been running the special teams for the Vikings. Priefer denied the allegations and participated in sensitivity training after an independent investigation found enough cause to suspend him.

Wilks, a one-year coordinator with the Panthers before his one year as head coach of the Cardinals, was scheduled to interview with the Browns on Friday.

Wilks was sacked after leading Arizona to a league-worst 3-13 record in which the team went through two offensive coordinators, two starting quarterbacks and a rash of injuries and inconsistent play. Prior to his year in Phoenix, the 49-year-old Wilks served as the defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers.

It seems Steve Wilks knocked his interview with the Cleveland Browns out of the park.

The Browns remain silent regarding the coordinator and head coach situation and there is no timetable for any formal announcements.
