Steve Buscemi's Wife of Over 30 Years, Jo Andres, Dies at 65

Buscemi and Andres Wednesday in 1987 and welcomed a son, who they named Lucian, together in 1990.

Jo Andres, who was aged in her mid-60s, and Fargo star Buscemi had been married for 31 years and had a son, Lucian, in 1990.

Her cause of death has not yet been released, however it's said the mother-of-one died earlier this week surrounded by both family and friends.

Back in 2009, he told the Independent that his favourite work of art was: 'Something by my wife Jo Andres'.

Andres came to prominence in the '80s for her film/dance/light performances throughout New York City, specifically at the Performing Garage, La Mama Experimental Theater Club P.S. 122, St. Marks Danspace, and the Collective for Living Cinema.

According to RadarOnline, Buscemi was 'was spotted lifting a wicker casket out of the house, ' before heading to a funeral service with a police escort.

A celebrated filmmaker and artist in her own right, Andres rose to fame within the 1980s art world through her expressive performance art films, and made her directorial debut with 1996's Black Kites.

Buscemi's Big Lebowski co-star, John Turturro, stopped by the home to offer support and Sopranos star, Aida Turturro, paid a visit. It starred her son Lucian Buscemi and was featured at the Toronto Film Festival and Sundance, reported the website heavy. In the wake of 9/11 Buscemi worked as a volunteer firefighter.

In addition to films, Andres also served as a dance consultant to the acclaimed Wooster Group and was an artist in residence at several respected universities, museums, and art colonies, including Yaddo, and The Rockefeller Study Center in Bellagio, Italy.
