Police are reporting an active shooter situation at a UPS facility in Logan Township, New Jersey, near Philadelphia.

Authorities say they received a call around 9 a.m.to an incident inside the UPS Mail Innovations in the 200 block of Birch Creek Road.

Police were seen ducking behind vehicles outside a loading ramp at the sprawling complex. From the footage, it appears at least 20 members of law enforcement were on the scene.

"We have an active incident in place", chief of staff Tom Gilbert said, adding that law enforcement is in a "fact-gathering" mode. The company did not release any information about who was involved in the shooting.

State and local law enforcement agencies are on the scene, including the New Jersey State Police and SWAT units.

The Logan Township School District has placed all schools on lockdown following police reports as a precaution.

The building, located in a commercial district of the south New Jersey township of 6,000, is a supply chain processing facility, UPS said. No one can leave or enter the building, although classes can proceed normally inside the school buildings.

Developing story - more to come.

According to NBC New York, a man entered the UPS sorting facility and fired shots into the ceiling before taking his ex-girlfriend and another person hostage.
