Apple's AirPower wireless charging pad has reportedly entered production. And after months of wait, the AirPower just disappeared into the air. Apple's AirPods, for example, shipped more than two months later than expected and, upon actually launching, were incredibly hard to find. The mat never was launched in 2018 and many suspected it may have been cancelled altogether, as Apple's website removed references to the product.

The report stated that a source indicated the charging mat is now in production.

After multiple delays and development issues, Hong Kong website ChargerLab has revealed (via MacRumors) that manufacturer Luxshare Precision, the company now in charge of making AirPods and Apple's USB-C cables, has finally kicked off AirPower production.

"AirPower is finally coming", the tweet reads.

The manufacturer also the produces Apple AirPods and USB-C cables for the Cupertino company.

ChargerLab further claims that Pegatron is also said to be mass producing AirPower wireless charging pad accessory. This same source also revealed that the accessory features three separate layers of coil inside.

As to why AirPower has been delayed, there have been numerous reports pointing to tremendous technical challenges involved in bringing the product to market, including complex circuitry and ensuring that the device doesn't overheat.
