Now, in a recent interview with Variety, HBO chief Richard Plepler, who has watched all the episodes in the final season of the Game of Thrones, had some interesting news for the fans of the show. Reportedly, the final season of Game of Thrones is said to have six episodes in total and each episode has been given a "movie treatment" so that the viewers have a supreme cinematic experience to witness.

The third season of "True Detective," starring Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali premieres at 9 p.m.

Details on the final season of Game of Thrones are of course scarce.

The wintry wait for "Game of Thrones" isn't over, but fans at least officially know when the suspense will end.

So, it seems as though it was a smart move linking Game of Thrones up with True Detective.

We expect more to hear on the matter in the coming days, so stay tuned to Otakukart for further updates. "The reaction I had while watching them was, "I'm watching a movie", he was quoted as saying. They've exceeded the bar.

Game of Thrones releases new season 8 footage showing Daenerys meeting Sansa.

While the network and the show's creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, are clearly going big for the show's finale, fans won't have to say goodbye to author George RR Martin's celebrated concept just yet.
