Leeds United will be happy to jump on this opportunity. Leeds United now sit in first place in the Championship with 54 points from 27 games.

It has been an impressive campaign for Bielsa's men thus far, and things could be about to go from strength to strength in the January transfer window.

Leeds United are hoping to bring in goalkeeper Kiko Casilla on a permanent deal from Real Madrid, according to a report.

Behind both Courtois and Keylor Navas, Casilla has yet to appear in a single match for Los Blancos this season.

Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague also confirmed that the transfer was "gathering pace" and that Casilla is expected to make the move to Yorkshire in the next week.

The 32-year-old who has been dropped to third choice since the arrival of Thibaut Courtois at the Bernabeu has just 18 months left in his contract.

Madrid have no shortage of talented goalkeepers beyond Casilla should they opt to sell, with youngster Andriy Lunin and Luca Zidane options to vacate his position.

It seemed to work though, and that is all that will matter to Leeds fans, who are enjoying life with "El Loco" at the helm and remain hopeful of returning to the Premier League, 15 years after being relegated in 2004.

Casilla has made 25 appearances for Real Madrid since he joined the club in 2015, including two appearances in their title winning 2017/18 Champions League campaign.
