A Winter Weather Advisory remains in place for Cook, DuPage, Kane, DeKalb, Kendall, Grundy and LaSalle and Will Counties in IL and all of Northwest Indiana until 3 a.m. Sunday.

Allegany County has already have 6 inches.

Areas of northwest IN, including Michigan City and Gary, reported between 4 and 6 inches of fresh snow on Saturday, the weather service said.

Snowfall will cut off quickly farther north to an inch or less along the Illinois-Wisconsin border. Driving conditions will deteriorate rapidly once snow begins in any given location in the Advisory area. We do not expect any widespread issues, but some slick spots are still possible especially early Monday morning.

Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories are in effect for snow, sleet and freezing rain for this weekend.

The storm moved into Kansas and Nebraska from the Rockies on Friday, then east into Missouri and IL, covering roads and making driving unsafe.

Mostly cloudy Wednesday with perhaps a snow shower or two, mostly in the snowbelt and a high in the mid 30s. Snow showers will taper off late Sunday night. That area could also experience power outages.
