A warrant has been issued for R. Kelly's former manager who threatened a father of one of the victims.

About the disgraced star, Greenberg said that 'He's disappointed these women are doing this, that those families are doing it, that they are ruining a talented musician's career'.

Kelly's songs streamed 1.9 million times on January 2, according to Nielsen Music.

By some freaky coincidence (or not!) Donnel Russell was the name that appeared in a police report filed by the father of Joycelyn Savage, a young woman that helped form the basis of the "R. Kelly sex cult allegations", tabled previous year.

"We can not seek justice without you", Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx said this week at a news conference.

According to entertainment sites TMZ and The Blast, R. Kelly is being actively investigated by the district attorney in Georgia's Fulton County, where the singer owns a home.

Surviving R. Kellyfeatures interviews with over 50 people, including several women who claim to have been victims of sexual misconduct by Kelly, and people from the artist's personal life who are speaking out with claims supporting those made by his alleged victims.

Reuters was unable independently to verify the accusations in the documentary and could not immediately reach prosecutors for comment.

Kannie Yu LaPack, a spokeswoman for Lifetime, said: "The women's stories speak for themselves". Steven Greenberg stopped by CBS This Morning and while there, the lawyer said the docuseries was nothing more than a 'hit piece'.

Chicago police were called to a club on Wednesday where singer R.Kelly was reportedly celebrating his birthday.

For about an hour, the protesters endured freezing temperatures and erupted in cheers of "All the girls, we love you!" and "Black girls matter!" as speakers demanded Kelly be dropped from his record label and collaborators stop working with him. He also urged potential victims to come forward, while a judge ordered an inspection of Kelly's Chicago music studio. However it was not necessary to clarify whether there was any truth to their claims as they didn't go to the police or provide and physical evidence, he said. In 2008, the singer was tried and acquitted on child pornography charges in Chicago. That said, the singer appeared free of panic attacks as he was partying at his birthday on Tuesday. He noted that the number of times Kelly's songs have been streamed online has climbed in recent days.
