Anthem will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on 22nd February, and youn can take a look at the post-launch roadmap below, as well as the latest trailer outlining the game's endgame content.

However, the surprise launch of EA's Apex Legends, a free-to-play shooter also set in a sci-fi universe, could take away some of those players who were planning on picking up Anthem.

Update one will focus on "Evolving the world" of Anthem, presumably injecting some life into the otherwise stale freeplay environments, while the "Stronger Together" update will add more social features to the mix.

We discussed Anthem's Cataclysm events (and other endgame things) with executive producer Mark Darrah earlier this month.

"They're created to be more seasonal", executive producer Mark Darrah said to GamesRadar of the event. You can customize them with the gear you earn and craft, then use them to fly, leap, and climb through a contiguous open world. Finally, the third update will introduce Anthem's first Cataclysm, a type of time-limited world event said to be partly inspired by Fortnite's long-game seasonal narratives. Anthem has six total difficulty settings, three of which are unlocked upon hitting level 30.

Anthem's Game Director Jonathan Warner narrates the 5:30 minute video, guiding viewers through the various activities that will keep you employed as a freelancer. Legendary Contracts will also be made available for players hungry for more hard, multi-part adventures. That includes daily, weekly, and monthly challenges, contracts offered by NPCs, freeplay, and strongholds, "the highest-level challenges in the game" that will require a team to complete. Contracts will allow players to increase their reputation with different factions, granting them access to crafting blueprints.
