Alicia Keys, a five-time Grammy victor, will be hosting the event in Los Angeles for the first time in her career. Some viewers may tune into music's biggest night, which airs live on CBS on Sunday, to see who's missing rather than who's there.

Who is hosting the 2019 Grammy Awards? . The organization awards approximately 70 winners during the show's Premiere Ceremony at 1 p.m., which features categories such as producer of the year, best metal performance, best rap performance and best country song. It seems she's saying "thank u, next" to this year's Grammys. Long enough for her to be considered "new" for the Grammys.

"A dynamic artist with the rare combination of groundbreaking talent and passion for her craft, Alicia Keys is the flawless choice as host for our show", said Neil Portnow, president and CEO of the Recording Academy.

While Jenny from the block is a talented artist in her own right, she doesn't accurately represent Motown. A report from the New York Times details the Hip-Hop trio of Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Childish Gambino were all offered time on the GRAMMY stage but declined the opportunity. Also teaming up for performances throughout the night are St. Vincent and Dua Lipa as well as Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga. In addition, current GRAMMY nominees Kelsea Ballerini, Leon Bridges, Luke Combs and Charlie Wilson will be presenting.

Who's nominated for Grammys this year?

Cardi B., Brandi Carlile, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone will also compete for Album of the Year, alongside H.E.R., Kacey Musgraves and Janelle Monáe. In what is sure to be a Grammy moment to remember, Yolanda Adams, Fantasia, and Andra Day will honor the legendary Aretha Franklin.

What to expect: One person who won't be in attendance of the show is Ariana Grande, who reportedly had a dispute with show producers over what she should perform.
