PSG's Cavani doubtful for Man United game

"We don't have another Edi like we don't have another Neymar", said PSG coach Thomas Tuchel.

Marco Verratti could return in time but looking at how Edinson Cavani walked off the pitch right at the stroke of half-time, things are not looking particularly good for the player.

Cavani broke the deadlock with a penalty for his 17th goal in 16 league games this season after Thomas Meunier had been fouled in the area.

'We have to wait.

Tuchel's side will also be missing Brazil striker Neymar, who has been ruled out with a foot injury.

"There are a lot of plans B. Without Ney, maybe without Marco, maybe without Edi".

"It is super hard, and if we are missing several players, the challenge is even greater".

Such is their margin for error domestically that Tuchel could afford to wrap a host of key players in cotton wool with the Champions League in mind.

PSG may now have to field a front three of Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria, and Kylian Mbappé, which is. not bad.

While Tuchel needs Verratti against a United midfield featuring the in-form Paul Pogba, the 58 minutes he played may not be enough to get his rhythm back in time to face a revitalized United.

Cavani and Moussa Diaby came close for the home side in the first half-hour, either side of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting being denied by a terrific save from Bordeaux 'keeper Benoit Costil.

The Uruguayan striker scored in the first half of PSG's win over Bordeaux but was taken off at the break with a suspected thigh problem.
