Duchess of Cambridge stuns in spectacular one-shoulder dress at BAFTAs 2019

The adorable moment saw Kate whisked off by BAFTA Chief Executive Amanda Berry, quietly saying her apologies to those nearby as she climbed the steps through the audience.

Prince William and his wife Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, joined worldwide film stars today at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Princess Diana wore the earrings to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 1991.

Kate, 37, channelled Hollywood glamour in a bespoke white one-shoulder gown by designer favourite Alexander McQueen, with tulle flowers embroidered on one shoulder.

During the ceremony, William - who is the the president of the British Academy Film Awards - presented the Fellowship award to film editor Thelma Schoonmaker. Prince William joined Kate looking dapper in a traditional tuxedo. After pictures of Kate Middleton at the BAFTA ceremony went viral, several social media users decoded her look and deduced that the earrings Kate wore were once owned by Princess Diana.

The royal couple sat in the front row for the star-studded awards ceremony and greeted some of the night's winners, including best actress victor Olivia Coleman, who is also an Oscar nominee for her portrayal of Queen Anne in The Favourite.

Meanwhile, at the BAFTA Awards, The Favourite dominated the list of winners while Roma took home the top two prizes - Best Film and Best Director - of the evening.

Actor Rami Malek picked the Best Actor BAFTA for Bohemian Raphsody while Mahershala Ali won Best Supporting Actor for Green Book.
