Matthews spent the past three-and-a-half seasons with the Dallas Mavericks before being dealt to the Knicks as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade on January 31.

Once Matthews officially became a free agent, he reportedly had interest from several teams, including the Thunder, but the 6-foot-5 guard ultimately agreed to join the Indiana Pacers. He inked a prorated veteran's minimum deal with IN, according to an earlier report from the Athletic. NY waived the 32-year-old on Thursday.

The 32-year-old spent one season in Utah before he played with the Portland Trail Blazers from 2010-2015.

Matthews played just two games with NY and scored 14 total points on 4-of-19 shooting.

In 45 games with Dallas, Matthews made 44 starts and averaged 12.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He's shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 37.4 percent from 3-point range.
