WIth Bajin as coach, Osaka rose from number 72 to the very summit of the world rankings in a year, winning back-to-back Grand Slams at the US Open and Australian Open.

Osaka enjoyed a remarkable rise up the world rankings after first linking up with Bajin in the 2017 off-season.

The 21-year-old Osaka beat Petra Kvitova in the Australian Open final on January 26, adding to her championship at the U.S. Open last September.

"Hey everyone, I will no longer be working together with Sascha".

"Thank you Naomi. I wish you nothing but the best as well".

Osaka became world number one when she won the Australian Open last month, after previously beating Serena Williams in the U.S. Open final in September. That's the fastest of any player in WTA history.

The Japanese went on to claim her first WTA title of her career at Indian Wells in March, defeating Maria Sharapova, Karolina Pliskova and Simona Halep to achieve the feat.

Osaka withdrew from this week's Qatar Open, citing a back injury.

"Thank you Naomi. I wish you nothing but the best as well".

Former greats Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert have all heaped praise on the new darling of women's tennis.
