Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders doubled-down on the Democrats" "Green New Deal' Friday; telling The View that it's impossible to go "too far" in combatting climate change and saying the "planet is at stake". Ed Markey of MA, that has been gaining steam among progressives since last November. The proposal promises to transition all sectors of the economy to renewable (but non-nuclear) energy within ten years while providing millions of jobs building the clean energy infrastructure necessary to replace our existing system. Last night our colleague from Rhode Island said it was "truly preposterous" for me to schedule a vote on the Green New Deal. For his own part, McConnell has been a staunch denier of climate change - in 2014, he said, "for everybody who thinks [the planet is] warming, I can find somebody who thinks it isn't". Sanders is 77 years old. "Does she have a point there or is that too radical?" "None of the benefits seem to outweigh all of the costs and the carnage on our land". The group, Sunrise Movement, posted a video of the incident that has since gone viral.

The much-hyped Green New Deal has created a division within the Democratic Party between those, such as Ocasio-Cortez, who believe only extremely ambitious initiatives will make a difference, and those who favor a more realistic approach, like Pelosi or Sen.

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who has shown relatively little support of the Green New Deal, and pleaded her to reconsider.

"Listen, it's like your kids spewing nonsense at you", he said. But Feinstein had a less than warm response to the heartfelt plea. "I have been and remain committed to doing everything I can to enact real, meaningful climate change legislation".

"We need drastic changes", Destine told MTV News. "With either one if they get their way, we're toast".

Last week, she joined other young Kentuckians in paying a visit to McConnell's Louisville office last week but were turned away.

"The Green New Deal is clearly very expensive", the authors of the study wrote. Young people "have a legitimate question", she asserted: maybe they shouldn't have children at all, since climate change is destroying the planet and they have lots of student debt'. "That's not exactly a ringing endorsement of a plan Democrats claim to support", McConnell said.
