Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC will add Halo games chronologically as time goes on. We also don't know if the Microsoft Store version will support Xbox Play Anywhere and cross-platform multiplayer between Windows 10 and Xbox One, but 343 Industries will likely share more details in the coming months. This marks the first time that the entire Master Chief saga will be available on PC and finally gives players what they have been asking for for years now.

Gamers will be able to get the PC collection through the Microsoft Store and on Steam. One specific game had yet to make the collection, but that's about to change when Halo: Reach releases on both PC and Xbox One.

Instead of bringing all of the Halo games into the PC ecosystem at once, 343 Industries and Microsoft are instead opting for a slower approach, in which each title is released one at a time - this is being done to ensure a stable launch for each title. While the MCC used to have some issues, 343 have been patching it consistently since launch, and it sounds like the PC will have some extra icing on the cake.

After more than a decade, the mainline Halo games are returning to PC.

Now, Xbox and PC players will have a chance to play Halo: Reach and The Master Chief Collection, and prepare for the release of Halo: Infinite, which is said to be a "spiritual reboot" for the franchise. Halo Waypoint will offer the latest information on the status of each game's progress. The rest of the titles will be released one-by-one in chronological order. Everyone who owns Halo Master Chief Collection will get access to Halo Reach's multiplayer content, including the Theater and the Forge, but the Campaign and Firefight modes will be available as a premium add-on. There's also some kind of plan to "evolve and grow" each of the games with community input, though it's not clear how extensive those post-release plans are.

External dev teams Ruffian and Splash Damage will help 343i bring MCC to PC.
