While there has been much talks about it launching a TV streaming and Apple News subscription services, reports suggest the company might unleash a couple of hardware including revamped AirPods, a new entry-level iPad, and the long-delayed AirPower wireless charging pad. Apple typically saves big news about its flagship product, the iPhone, for launch events every September. Digitimes's sources said that Apple would introduce the devices on March 25th.

Apple fans have reason to celebrate today, as the Cupertino-based company officially announced an upcoming event to be held at the Steve Jobs Theater. The event will start at 10:00 a.m. "Last year, Apple unveiled the 2018 9.7" iPad with Apple Pencil support, as well as various new apps suitable for teachers, students, and related educational activities.

The company was rumoured to be holding an event on March 25 before, and it's now sending out official invites to the press this evening.

On top of programming it's created in-house, Apple is hammering out the final details of agreements to add movies and TV shows from HBO, Showtime, Starz and others, according to Bloomberg.

Unsurprisingly, Netflix and Hulu will not be a part of Apple's TV service, because they don't want Apple to control the user experience or have access to their viewing data.

Apple has long hinted at a planned video service, spending US$2 billion in Hollywood to produce its own content and signing major stars such as Oprah Winfrey.
