Kyle Busch sweeps Phoenix

Joey Logano won last week and Brad Keselowski two weeks ago.

Busch won the Cup Series race Sunday and the X-finity Series race Saturday.

"You've got to race hard first, and then you got to worry about fuel afterwards", he said of the final laps. "Once I got to Blaney, I was able to save a little bit". The drivers head to California this weekend.

"It's not for me to worry about. For myself and the career that I've had, I've been fortunate to be around a lot of top people and a lot of great sponsors".

Kyle Busch took home the top prize in Sundays Ticket Guardian 500 at ISM Raceway for his 199th career NASCAR win, and his 52nd career Cup win.

Busch has won three times in the desert, including the playoff race last fall.

Even after victory outside Phoenix, Busch was still ruing what might have been.

Busch said it's not for him to decide what the number means. "But we'll take what we got today".

That allowed Martin Truex Jr. to climb all the way up to second place.

After giving up the lead, Blaney fell to third while he saved fuel.

"Honestly, we hung on better there on two tires than I thought we would", Blaney said. "Ugh", Busch said following the race. I don't know if those details will happen that much any more. "Man, I wish we could have swept last week, too".

Chase Elliott is starting alongside him in the first row as his Hendrick Motorsports team tries to get on track this season, while Kyle Busch is going for the weekend sweep after his Xfinity win. "This is what we deserve".

Aric Almirola, Joey Logano, Alex Bowman and Kyle Busch rounded out the top five. "When we got passed for the lead it was just full fuel-save mode". I didn't want to run out and finish 20th.

The way Busch has been going lately, it seems as if nobody else can win.

Truex finished second while Blaney who led 94 laps settled for third.

Nine-time Phoenix victor Kevin Harvick finished ninth. "I think he was kind of riding back there, too. I was just wide open", McDowell said.

Busch made his move following a restart on Lap 239 of the 312-lap race.

Ryan Blaney (12) leads the field out of Turn 4 during the NASCAR Cup Series auto race at ISM Raceway, Sunday, March 10, 2019, in Avondale, Ariz.
