With Kalank, Karan Johar Is Fulfilling His Father Yash Johar's Dream

Karan wanted to direct the film himself following the release of Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), but unfortunately, it got pushed to the back burner. "But like always, I had to only hold her from falling and as soon as this happened, Alia smiled". They broke up in the early days of 2018 but now are civil with each other.

Alia Bhatt, then, said, " I love working with him (Varun Dhawan), he is very very close to my heart and I have to say he is fantastic in the film, in my eyes". The teaser of Kalank showed some very aesthetically shot sequences that made it an instant hit with the viewers.


Kalank is said to have been Karan Johar's dream project and not only does the film have an ensemble cast, but its storyline is also intriguing given it is set during the partition area. Our relationship is civil.

"At the start, we fought a lot....it all started when Alia was showing a lot of attitude on the sets and I was wondering what has happened". It's been a while. I have known her for much longer even before we dated. The filmmaker also probed and asked if it's tough and if they will share the same space again, to which he added, "There is a reason why two people decide not to be together".
