Australia will now play Pakistan in Dubai, whereas the Indian players will join their franchises ahead of the upcoming IPL season.

Australia lost the opening two games, but Wednesday's triumph rounded off a stunning turnaround and ensured they won a bilateral ODI series of at least five matches from 2-0 down for the first time. After winning the toss Australian skipper Aaron Finch made a decision to bat first. They showed character and great fighting spirit.

Earlier, Team India lost the last and the final ODI in Delhi by 35 runs and it was again the middle-order that collapsed in a 273 chase.

It was Australia's first ODI series win in India since 2009, when a Ricky Ponting-led side won a seven-match series 4-2, and follows humbling home Test and ODI series defeats against the same opposition.

"We always knew that the plans and the style that we wanted to play are all there (and) can win us the World Cup", he added.

There were several players in the Australian team who produced outstanding performances, most notably opener Usman Khawaja, who was the highest scorer of the series with two centuries and an equal number of half-centuries.

With the conclusion of India vs Australia series, the focus for Indian players shifts to the shortest format with the IPL.

"I think Jhye Richardson and Pat Cummins are forming a great partnership, they can also contribute with the bat".

"Incredibly proud of the boys ... it's been an incredible arm-wrestle from the moment India arrived in Australia". Former Australian World Cup victor Allan Border says, "There may no longer be room left in Australia's ODI XI for Steve Smith and David Warner after the team claimed its "best ever" series win in the format".

Virat also mentioned that every team member deserved to go into the T20 League and enjoy oneself before the World Cup tournament takes over everything.

Australia sealed a stunning, come-from-behind, 3-2 ODI series victory over India as they beat their hosts by 35 runs in the final one-day worldwide of the series in Delhi on Wednesday.
