The Gunners need to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg in France, if they seek to progress to the next round. Not sure what else to say.

Arsenal pick up a 3-0 win over Rennes in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie at the Emirates Stadium to advance through 4-3 on aggregate.

Yet within two minutes of the restart, Petr Cech was at full stretch to touch Ismaila Sarr's low 20-yard drive against the post after Shkodran Mustafi carelessly lost the ball.

Aubameyang kept Ramsey's pass in play, but the Gabonese striker looked to be stood in an offside position before picking out Maitland-Niles at the back post.

Aubameyang, who was cautioned for his celebration after the goal, missed two golden opportunities to extend the league in the closing minutes, chipping wide on one effort and scuffing a shot from close range after being left all alone in front of the net.

What does it mean? Well, that was until Aubameyang struck in the second half to complete his brace and extended their lead.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice and set up another to earn Arsenal a 3-0 second-leg win over Rennes on Thursday evening, seeing them through to the quarter-finals 4-3 on aggregate. Having been linked with a move to Arsenal at the end of this season, Sarr did not seize his opportunity to shine, with a hopeful shot in the sixth minute of added time his only notable contribution.

Arsenal are through to the next round of the Europa League after mounting a mighty comeback against Rennes.

- The Gunners have kept four consecutive clean sheets at home in European competition for the first time since April 2009 (six in total in that run). The late goal was the forward's second of the night, and it all but sealed Arsenal's place in the Europa League quarterfinals.
