"I know that sounds lame, but we have to play 18 holes in a round of golf, we can't just get excited for one of them". Sunny skies are expected on Thursday and Friday, but off-and-on showers are in the weather forecast, so Mother Nature could play a role.

A new drop rule - instead of dropping from shoulder height, players are now required to drop from knee height - cost Fowler a one-stroke penalty in Mexico because he dropped from the old height.

Tiger Woods, starting as various other contenders finished for the day, was one over through three.

Mostly out of frustration, players have wondered if it wouldn't be better for the PGA Tour to have its own rules apart from those written by the United States Golf Association and The R&A. Dustin Johnson is one.

Surrounded by thousands of spectators on top of the action, golfers must treat this 137-yard Par 3 carefully, hitting their ball onto the iconic island green with no real margin for error. If he's able to keep his momentum going this week, he'll have a strong chance to rack up plenty of birdies and eagles and climb the 2019 Players Championship leaderboard quickly. But he is going to a course that plays to his strengths, especially with his ability to post great greens-in-regulation numbers. Anyone who backs these underdogs could hit it big.

And who does that guy, Matt Brophy, like to win this year? And which long shots stun the golfing world?
